O-I Netherlands Supports “Beer Geeks Beat ALS”

At O-I, we strive every day to be responsible and active in the communities in which we live and work in. Giving back to charities is one way in which our employees can feel good about their work while connecting their personal values with our company values.

Beer Geeks is a Facebook group in which craft beer enthusiasts unite to share, in addition to everything they drink, everything about their hobby craft beer. After a member of the Beer Geeks group passed away due to ALS, the group came together to start the “Beer Geeks Beat ALS” campaign. In December 2019, the Beer Geeks and brewers from the Netherlands joined forces for the second year in a row to give back to the ALS Netherlands Foundation. 80 Dutch breweries united at the Jopen brewery in Haarlem, Netherlands to create a limited edition beer named “Road To Nowhere.” The beer launched February1, 2020 at the DAVO Brewery in Deventer, as part of the campaign. O-I proudly supported this initiative by supplying the approx. 27,000 beer bottles for “Road To Nowhere” that were produced at our Leerdam plant. All proceeds from the campaign benefit the ALS Foundation Netherlands. If you would like to donate to “Beer Geeks Beat ALS,” visit https://www.alsacties.nl/campagne/the-beergeeks-are-back.
