Cradle to Cradle Certified is a globally recognized program that reviews and scores products across various industries based on five categories: material health, material reuse, renewable energy and carbon management, water stewardship, and social fairness.
Based on the five categories, O-I earned bronze in 2019 for its overall global glass operations producing certain colors for the beer, food, non-alcoholic beverage, spirit and wine markets. O-I received a gold in water stewardship and a silver in social fairness.
O-I is particularly proud of its platinum score in the material health category–platinum is the highest rating on the Cradle to Cradle Certified scale. The certification demonstrates O-I’s commitment to sustainable practices and sustainable and inspiring products that consumers, customers, and investors have come to expect from O-I.
