O-I Glass was founded more than a century ago by a man whose glass bottle making machine was called the most significant invention in glass in 2000 years. Founder Michael J. We’re announcing a transformation at our glass making facility in Alloa, UK. A series of upgrades will include gas-oxy combustion furnace tech, more renewable energy and more recycled glass.
Alloa has been making glass for nearly three centuries. It’s an ideal model of how we approach our long-term sustainability strategy: transforming heritage sites into state-of-the-art glass making facilities for the 21st century through innovative, scalable glass making technology.
